Project Description
The
Design-Build Bagram Combat Support Hospital was a combination of modular units
and CMU (concrete masonry units) construction. Bagram Combat Support Hospital
supports medical care for the Bagram Airbase and the surrounding military
operations.
The
Bagram hospital facility was a 44 – bed facility and included multiple offices,
examination rooms, storage and maintenance facilities, latrines, a chapel,
meeting rooms, library, a Radiology section, a Pharmacy, Laboratory, outpatient
and physical therapy clinics, lounges, medical maintenance area, food service
area and parking and lay-down storage. The Facility was connected to local
electric grid, yet has emergency back – up power generation and UPS. The
facility included medical gas distribution and other specialized medical system
requirements.
The
facility’s medical modular portion had ICU, OR, inpatient recovery, CMS,
trauma, dental clinic, emergency care areas.
A portion of the medical equipment was also within the scope of the
project, all equipment and furnishings, fixtures and material finishes were
provided in accordance with the specifications accepted by COR.
Facility
was designed by ZAFER to a high Anti Terrorism / Force Protection and also met
the US codes and standards of Army medical facilities. ZAFER maximized the
Afghan local content during the project and used local personnel without sacrificing either
safety or quality.
